Who we are

LASplanning LLP (hereinafter referred to as LASplanning) is a sole practitioner planning consultancy providing town planning advice and planning application support to those who require it.

The service is delivered by Lorna Sim, a Chartered Town Planner, and the business is registered at 6 Sweetbank Terrace, Markinch, Fife, KY7 6BJ.

LASplanning works with relevant and necessary suppliers and subcontractors, the services of which are detailed on respective client fee or quotation documentation. 

  • Suppliers and subcontractors provide their own privacy notices which are available direct. 

How we use your information

We use your personal information to allow us to provide consultancy support services to you and to represent you, where agreed in dealing with third parties including planning authorities.

We will use the information you supply to us to:

  • Verify your identity where required;
  • Reply to your enquiry by email, or telephone;
  • Maintain our records;
  • Provide services to you;
  • Undertake casework and relevant background research; and,
  • Report on the number of clients using our services.

  • To provide a professional planning consultancy service and to represent or fulfil your needs accurately.  

Where you have requested a service, we use your personal information to provide you with that service.

What happens if you do not wish to provide your personal information?

  • If you do not wish to provide LASplanning with your personal information, this may limit our ability to provide effective and professional services to you.

Marketing communications

Where we have your consent to do so, we will send you information and updates about LASplanning services. These updates may include business development information (as the consultancy establishes) or information on relevant planning policy or subject matter documents including Government consultations.   

If you decide that you no longer wish to receive these messages then you can opt out of future communications. If this is your preference, please email info@lasplanning.co.uk.  We will still communicate with you for other purposes in the ordinary course of any other relationship we have with you.

  • We will generally comply with requests for specific information from regulatory and law enforcement bodies where this is necessary and appropriate. 
  • We will also share your personal information, where necessary, in the course of conducting your casework or representing you.  This will be to relevant parties only to enable them to carry out services on our behalf for you.

How long do we keep your information for?

We only keep your personal information for the minimum period amount of time necessary. Sometimes this time period is set out in the law, but in most cases it is based on the business need.  

We regularly review our data retention policies and as necessary we will add further detail to this Privacy Notice, setting out further information about our practices.

Where your information may be held internationally

The personal information that we collect from you may be transferred to, and processed, at a destination outside the European Economic Area.  

Where this is the case, we ensure that the organisation processing the data provides an adequate level of protection for your rights, and complies with the conditions of data protection law set out in the General Data Protection Regulation.

Objecting to how we may use your information – 

  • You have the right at any time to tell us to stop using your personal information.  In addition, where we use your personal information to perform tasks carried out or pursuant to the legitimate interests of us or a third party then, if you ask us to, we will stop using that personal information unless there are overriding legitimate grounds to continue. 

Restricting how we may use your information – 

  • In some cases, you may ask us to restrict how we use your personal information. This right might apply, for example, where we are checking the accuracy of personal information that we hold about you or we are assessing the objection you have made to our use of your information. 
  • This right might also apply if we no longer have a basis for using your personal information but you don’t want us to delete the data.   • Where we use your personal information with your consent you may withdraw that consent at any time and we will stop using your personal information for the purpose(s) for which consent was given.
